PETRONAS LE TOUR DE LANGKAWI 2020 ADDS INTERNATIONAL CRITERIUM AND MALAYSIAN CLASSIC SPECIAL RACES

The most popular cycling race in Malaysia, Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) will be held once again from the 7th till 14th February. In celebrating the 25th anniversary this year, the tour will start from the historical Cat city of Kuching in Sarawak, in east Malaysia. A pre-race criterium will also be held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Watch out for the professionals whizzing through popular towns from the east to the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, passing by favourites Putrajaya, Temerloh, Taiping, Hors-Categorie stage at Genting Highlands and KLCC, home to title sponsor Petronas.


The UCI ranked 2.0HC race and most recently, the Professional Series (ProSeries) category, makes it the most prestigious race in Asia. It is expected to attract international professionals including World Tour, pro-continental and continental teams from Europe, Asia and North and South America. Over the years, LTdL has seen the of rise of local Malaysian talents in Anuar Manan, Harrif Saleh as well as international sterlings like Caleb Ewan. and Egan Bernal. In 2019, Malaysia’s fully-integrated petroleum corporation, PETRONAS signed on to become the race’s Title Sponsor for a period of three years making the race known as PETRONAS Le Tour de Langkawi. This year’s edition will feature an eight-stage race including additional two special races; the Malaysian International Criterium Race and Malaysian International Classic Race.
