HULU SELANGOR, Feb 11 — Selangor Youth, Sports and Human Capital Development Committee chairman Mohd Khairuddin Othman flagged off the stage five of the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2020 in Kuala Kubu Bharu here today.
Stage five of the race today covers a distance of 165.8km from Kuala Kubu Bharu to Ipoh with three sprint zones at Tanjung Malim, Slim River and Tapah.
The eight-stage LTdL 2020, which began on February 14, covers a distance of 1,145.9 kilometres in seven states and two federal territories — Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Perak, Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
A total of 21 teams, which includes 126 participants from various continents, are taking part in the sporting event.
LTdL is a multiple-stage bicycle race that has gained multiple accolades and is now recognised as a highlight in the global competitive cycling calendar, attracting the world’s top road cyclists.
Spectators and cycling fans globally can expect an intense, fast and furious competition throughout the race as riders push themselves to their limits with a target to win Asia’s most prestigious multistage cycling event.
